Trust

Understand what you are trusting.

How UnifyID verifies identity, handles application permissions, and records activity.

Read the published notices for the terms and data-handling information that apply.

A proof must be checked against the record and checkpoint it covers.

Identity checks

Verification uses supported documents and required checks. A successful check does not establish every fact about a person.

Sign-in and permissions

Passkeys support account access. Application consent is a separate decision about the requested information.

Data handling

Published notices explain processing, retention, and applicable privacy rights.

What a record can demonstrate

For records covered by a published integrity proof, checking the proof can help detect changes to the covered record. The public transparency API exposes checkpoint information.

  • An integrity proof concerns the covered record; it does not establish that every statement in it is true.
  • A proof is not a promise that every activity in every external application is recorded.
  • The application is responsible for how it handles information it receives.
